The Twelve (Book Two of The Passage Trilogy) by Justin Cronin: 9780345542373 : Books NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER The end of the world was only the beginning. Volume two is without inscription, with a date (Waterstone's edition with additional chapter). Although both books do have some lengths, I've never reached the point where I did seriously consider to quit reading. And I have to say that Justin Cronin is a brilliant writer. It's a little while ago when I'd read 'The Passage' and now finally I could manage to finish 'The Twelve' too. Here in book two, 'The Twelve,' Cronin picks up the story, interweaving characters from 'year zero' (when the infection hit the fan) with flashes forward to 79 and 97 years hence. Signed without inscription on a publisher's tipped-in sheet as issued. Just finished Justin Cronin's 'The Twelve'. Volume one is pulled to the front hinge at the half-title as is common. ![]() There was inevitably quite a bit of hype around the publication, though thankfully the books have for once largely lived up to it. More recently, Scott's company has switched this from the big screen to television (probably a good move). Cronin's agent sold the film rights to Ridley Scott's production company three years before the publication of the first book in 2010 based on Cronin's 400 page sample. A decent set of this highly-regarded trilogy. ![]()
